Week 27 – “Could’ve Been Me”

This week we selected 2 songs for the video because the joy was double what it usually is.  Does that make sense?  Our name sake “Elisha” asked for a double portion of Elijah’s blessing and many believe that he simply wanted to have twice the power.  But the reality was more along the lines that at that time the firstborn son would receive a double portion of his fathers inheritance.  The rest of the inheritance would be distributed equally amongst the remaining siblings.  So Elisha asked for a double portion as a statement that he was the rightful heir to Elijah’s work here in this world.

Interesting thought…he wanted the world to know that he was indeed the disciple after Elijah and in fact served as a prophet of Northern Israel for more than 60 years. Whew!!!  What a track record…we should all wish to accomplish so much.

This weekend was doubly blessed because we had people come out from every where to take part in EP.  There were the Krupowicz (who are now on the EP Team), Mello (2nd time), Massa (2nd time), Lind (EP Team), Andrews (4th time),  Macedo (2nd  time) and Santana (1st time) families.  That these individuals would give up their Saturday morning to be a blessing to strangers is living out the words of the King:

” Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least [in the estimation of men] of these My brethren, you did it for Me.”

The Amplified bible does a good job of pointing out that it was not the Lord who thinks any of us as “the least.”  People are only diminished in the hearts, minds and eyes of other people.  God’s wish is this:

“…not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

That is where we live at EP.  We try to love like Jesus did while on earth and continues seated at the right hand of the Father.  Thank you all for your support!!!
We are fasting every Monday from sunrise to sunset for the Elisha Project.  If you feel like joining us please feel free to contact us at myelishaproject@gmail.com so that we can pray for your family.  If you are in need of prayer, please send that also.
when fasting it is important to be intentional with your needs.  Here is a list of things that we are fasting for – please add them to your prayer list:
1) That God would move the hearts of people to be part of EP
2) A warehouse, office or restaurant with a big kitchen
3) A HD Video & Picture Camera and lights
4) A refrigerator (energy-efficient)
5) A Food Vehicle (cantina)
6) An invite from churches to tell the EP story and move people to action
God Bless You All!!!
