Hola EP Families, Friends, and soon to be Team Members…week 14 was the hardest one we have experienced. The weather really came in to play and gave us a glimpse of the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead. Our total pushed past 901 meals this week. The Likes on Facebook have grown to 394 (at the time of this post) and were at 272 when we went to make lunches Saturday morning.
Give. Love. Live.
The Barnes family joined us this week and it was our first time meeting them. They were awesome and really poured themselves into the project. They brought more than food with them. They came equipped with love, passion and faith. The children were extremely helpful and inspiring. Halfway through our 1st hour on the street it started raining. We were forced to pack up and relocate to the entrance of the homeless shelter. The Barnes Family never complained and you can see from the video they were Joy-Filled:
Mr. Barnes walked the rainy, cold streets with me as our families watched from our respective minivans. In our conversation as we battled the elements we discussed God, life and the need. We remarked how the world has reached a tipping point. We discussed how whether Christian or not, black or white, rich or poor, we have come to the end of ourselves. That the time to talk about change was over and the time to be that change had arrived.
We at EP (and that includes all the families that Like Us on FB) have decided that we cannot do everything but we are going to do what we can. There is a cry in our hearts for our fellow-man, woman, and child and we are going to answer that bell.
We are in need of supporters, a facility, a food truck, a camera, supplies, and prayer…But mostly prayer. If you attend a church please put us on your prayer list. If you don’t attend a church then pray for us yourself.
If you need prayer, please email us at email@example.com
God Bless you all and Good Night
