Thank you so much for your support. We would not be able to serve without people as generous as you. When we began this project almost 10 years ago we were focused on making a couple of lunches for the needy. Our focus was ensuring that we could give them our very best. For that reason, we have stayed away from giving out anything that can last more than a day. We went from 24 meals to more than 300 per week.
Three years ago, we dove into the food rescue sphere and everything changed. We started with one bakery and today work with more than 20 partners, including Dunkin-Joy in Childhood Foundation, The Rhode Island Foundation, The United Way of Rhode Island, The Patriots Foundation, LISC, Citi, Brown University, Starbucks, Chipotle, Longhorn Steakhouse, University of Rhode Island, Twin River Casino, Hans Kissel, Swansea Country Club, etc. This enabled us to start delivering healthy meals to families with children. We increased our coverage to more than 25,000 people per week.
This COVID-19 crisis hit everyone hard and most were not ready for it. It would be a lie to say that we prepared for it. But because of the work, we were already doing it was easy for us to scale up. Since the beginning of March, we have increased our reach to more than 15,000 families. We are now acting as a distributor to more than 40 agencies/churches/organizations that serve communities in need, in 5 cities, etc.
This number is growing every day and comprises all of Rhode Island and as far north as Boston, Massachusetts. The Elisha Project Share Market is delivering perishables to families in need daily. You are part of that and we thank you.
Stay Healthy,
